The Nikon AF 50mm f/1.8D Lens is Nikon’s latest 50mm lens replaces the Nikkor AF 50mm f/1.8 (non D, key difference is the D lens provide distance information which lets the newest cameras get the correct flash exposure). It is very cheap but provide surprisingly sharp images comparable to Nikkor professional Zoom lenses costing 15 times as much.

The Nikon AF 50mm f/1.8D Lens is compatible with all Nikon FX and DX digital SLR cameras including D300, D200, D100, D80, D70, D50, D70s, D2H, D2Hs, D2X, D2Xs and D3. The Nikkor AF 50mm f/1.8 D works especially well on the Nikon D3 and D300.

Pls note as with all Nikon AF lens, the Nikon AF 50mm f/1.8D won’t autofocus on the D60, D40 or D40x (manual focus works fine). You will need an AF-S lens for autofocus with those models.
