The new Fuji XQ1 EXR black digital camera features a newly developed F1.8 4x zoom lens and the same type of 2/3” X-Trans TM CMOS II sensor and EXR Processor II as used in the highly regarded Fuji X20 camera. This means the Fuji XQ1’s sensor size approximately doubles those in ordinary compact digital cameras and is able to deliver one of the world’s fastest auto focus (AF) speeds of 0.06 seconds.

The Fuji XQ1 may be small and compact but it is one of the most pocketable advanced cameras around with no compromise on performance or image quality. 12MP Large 2/3-inch X-Trans CMOS II Sensor

The X-Trans CMOS II sensor adopts an original colour filter array with a highly random pattern, eliminating the need for an optical low-pass filter (OLPF), which is used in conventional systems to inhibit moiré at the expense of resolution. This lets the sensor directly capture the high resolution performance of the FUJIFILM XQ1 lens. Also exploiting the enhanced performance of the EXR Processor II, Lens Modulation Optimiser (LMO) factors are calculated to compensate for aberrations and diffraction blur that occur when light passes through the lens and then are applied to produce images with amazing sharpness.

Ultra-fast 0.06 Auto Focus Speed

Integration of phase detection pixels into the advanced sensor. One of the world’s fastest AF speeds of 0.06 seconds has been achieved with the on-sensor phase detection AF which brings subjects into focus in an instant with the phase detection sensor. Thanks to the synergy of phase detection AF and contrast AF bringing you precision even in low light, your subject can be captured quickly and accurately in many settings. In AF-C mode, once the focus point has been set, the movements of the subject will be accurately tracked, offering you multiple photo chances.

High-Speed Continuous Shooting Speed of 12.0 fps (max. approx. 9 frames)

High-speed continuous shooting that lets you capture both movement and your best shot possible. A continuous shooting speed of up to 12.0 fps max. (continuous shooting of approx. 9 frames ) with a full 12 million pixels resolution has been achieved. It is effective when you want to capture constantly moving subjects such as children and pets and also when you want to choose the best shot from a series of photos. While in low-speed continuous shooting mode, AF continuous shooting is now possible at max. 4.7 fps, continuously and accurately focusing on moving subjects.

Fujinon lens with bright f/1.8 aperture

The bright f/1.8 lens lets you capture quality pictures not normally possible with a compact camera. Noise is kept to a minimum without boosting sensitivity, while camera shake and subject motion are prevented due to high shutter speeds. And thanks to the large aperture, you can also create attractive “bokeh” blurred background effects.

FUJINON 4x optical zoom with 4x Intelligent Digital Zoom

Intelligent Digital Zoom extends the XQ1’s 4x optical zoom to the equivalent of a 16x zoom. It uses advanced image processing to capture the moment with amazingly sharp resolution, minimal noise and no loss of tonality.

Lens shift image stabilisation

With its built-in 3.0-stop optical (lens shift type) image stabilisation function the FUJIFILM XQ1 will help reduce blurring that occurs when shooting moving objects giving you a clear image without blurring in all kinds of scenes.

Configurable control ring

The control ring around the lens mount can be customised to one of thirteen settings in advance, making the XQ1 it feel more like analogue camera. Functions can be set with the E-Fn button on the back. If it is set to “STD”, it will automatically choose the setting recommended for whichever shooting mode you are in.

Flexible, one-handed operation

The FUJIFILM XQ1 is the lightest X series camera, and one you want to carry around with you at all times. It is uniquely designed to enable smooth shooting with only one hand. All dials and buttons are placed on one side. In addition, attention has been given to the grip location and size, as well as the angle of the shutter button, for high quality images with one-handed shooting.

Customised control: The E-Fn button

The Extended Function (E-Fn) button lets you customise your FUJIFILM XQ1 to offer immediate access to your most-used controls. One touch and the monitor displays a menu of six items of your choice.

Built in Wi-Fi for wireless image transfer

You can easily transfer images wirelessly from the camera to your smartphone or tablet after installing the free FUJIFILM Camera Application app. There are no troublesome ID and password settings; just press the Wi-Fi® button of the top of the camera and then add the images easily to your blog or share them with friends on your social networking site. You can also use the camera’s built-in Wi-Fi to save your photos to your PC.

PC/Laptop Autosave

The FUJIFILM XQ1 is also able to back up your photos on your home PC. Just install the free “FUJIFILM PC AutoSave” software onto your PC and select which folder you want the photos to back up to, and then by linking your Wi-Fi Router and the Fuji XQ1 camera you will have set up a very simple to use backup for your photos on your home PC.

Motion Panorama 360°

Motion Panorama has been extended to 360 in degrees enabling the opportunity to capture the scene around you in a single photo. More shooting options for you with pro-class functions.

Select “Motion Panorama Mode,” press the shutter button and sweep the camera to pan the scene. The Fuji XQ1 cleverly produces a stunning 360° panorama shot, effortlessly and automatically!

Multiple Exposure mode

Just select Multiple Exposure mode and take the first shot. Then frame and shoot the second exposure while viewing the first image in the LCD monitor. This lets you not only precisely position and focus the second shot, but also “see” how the finished Multiple Exposure image will look and make creative adjustments like zooming in to enlarge the subject.

Full HD Movie x Film Simulation Mode

Full HD Movie (1920 x 1080) mode features 60fps for smoother capture of the action in full high definition. You can also take advantage of Monochrome and the vivid colour expression of other Film Simulation modes, and exploit the brightness of the lens to shoot movies with a dreamy “bokeh” effect. Also the new movie scene recognition function can automatically recognise 6 types of scene and optimise settings for beautiful results under a variety of shooting conditions.

Even when shooting moving subjects, Auto Focus keeps the action in sharp focus. And if you are shooting scenes while walking, image stabilisation can minimise blur.
