1. If I insert 128 MB SMC into U30 (128 MB), will the computer recongise the MP3 player as one disk with capacity of 256 MB ?

No. It will be recongnised as two disk of 128 MB each.

2. How to upgrade the firmware?

Step 1. Install the Sonken software In order to upgrade the firmware, you must install the programme in the CD-ROM first. After installation, when you click the button, you should have "Sonken U30 MP3 player" under "Progames", shown in the following picture:

If you have any error occured during installation, then plase uninstall the software, and clicke here to download the upgrade version, and install from the downloaded file.

Step 2 Connect to the computer Remove the battery from the MP3 player, press and hold the / button and connection to the computer, the backlight on the MP3 player will not be turned on but the computer can recongise it as a "Recovery Device", then release the / button

Step 3 Upgrade/ repaire the Firmware Click the "Start" -->"Programmes" -->"Sonken U30 MP3 Player" --> "SONKEN Update", as shown above picture, then the following dialogue box will show, follow the instructions to finish upgrading the firmware.

3. Should I repair the firmware?

If the MP3 player behaves strange, such as it will not play WMA music or can not save the tuned FM radio stations, then the Firmware need to be repaired. Please follow answer to the Question 2 to repaire the Firmware.

4. Installation error: "Binary files failed to execute"?

Please download the drive again from Sonken's website, see answer to Question 1.

5. Error message "Please place your MP3 device into recovery mode to continue" when I tried to upgrade the firmware?

Please follow the answer to Question 2 ( Step 2) to avoid this message.
