1st message on 28/07/05: It worked perfectly when
I plugged and played and downloaded some pics from a camera.
Can it also be used for backing up anything else and can
you delete stuff from it as well? (reply: yes of course)
2nd message on 29/07/05: The computer manufacturere
say the computer is designed for such a product suits even
more useful that I thought. Thanks for all your help and
I'll be recommending this to my friends. It might interst
you that Digital Camera magazine talks about this type of
storage but the sort they have have got a screen- personally
I think that is a waste of time since you can see your pictures
on the camera and can edit them on the computer when you
get home,The sctreen ones cost over £150 to 300

3. Unitek Pendrive by Chris Nicholson on 10th May,2003
I have just purchased a Unitek 256MB Mini Flash Disc,
in general I have found this a really nice product, just
2 little comments.
I have found it impossible to fit the strap attachment,
the black cord is now frayed beyond use.
If a small metal ring was fitted to the device on manufacture
it would be much easier, the black cord could be fitted
& removed with ease at any time.
(*reply from Paul: Actually you can attach the
black cord to the small cave first, it is a little bit
difficult, and need a little bit patience, I have put
one in with the help of a stapler pin in around 2 min
when I tried the first time, then you can attach the longer
grey cord to the black so you can hold it on you neck
or on your belt with the shorter grey cord. )
It would be nice if it had a simple sleeve pouch it could
clip into for protection against scratching & dirt.
I have also just purchased a Unitek Y252 portable 2.5"
hard disk enclosure, again a really nice product, just
2 little comments again.
It would be nice to have a short USB cable (about 11 inches),
the nice case could have an elastic strip down one side,
the 11 inch cable could then be folded in half and slotted
in the elastic strip suggested at one side of case keeping
the drive and cable together, no one thinks about storage
of cables for these type of things.
I enjoy having both of these products but for a few pence
and a little thought at time of manufacture things could
be improved.
Regards
Chris Nicholson.
4. Portable hard drives by Desmond Harte on 7th
Aug. 2003
Firstly, thanks for a great, sensibly priced product.
I'd begun to despair of finding an enclosure for my spare
30Gb 2.5" HD.... The finish even Matches my Powerbook
exactly. I love the case too.
Secondly, Worth a note on the specs. The enclosure requires
no drivers to run under Mac OS X 10.0 and up, not just
OS 8.6 to 9.2. Provided the Mac has USB or Firewire, Just
install an HD in the enclosure and plug it in.
Thirdly, in your FAQ's you say that you can't boot off
the drive. Whilst this is true for Windies, it's perfectly
possible to boot a Mac off either a USB or Firewire external
drive. All you need is an operating system installed on
it.
Fourthly, If I were you I'd do more to promote the product
to the Mac market. The alternatives I've found cost lots
more, are bigger and don't look nearly as good.
Fifthly, OK, this is a gripe. Loose the 'Pocket Hard
Disk Drive' markings off it. It would look far slicker
without it. ;)

Des
