1. How do I know the products I received is really a Sony / Toshiba / Pioneer DVD burner? / I ordered a Sony DVD burner but received a DVD burner with no name?

DVD-R and DVD+R is a write once DVD media, DVD-RW, DVD+RW and DVD-RAM are all re-writable, currently DVD-R /RW and DVD+R/RW are the most popular DVD media and neither have clear advantage over the other. For DVD backup, it is better to use DVD-R as it has the best compatibility with DVD players and DVD drives. Good quality media such as Ritek is also recommended for best compatibility.

3. I don't know if my computer have USB 1.1 or USB 2.0? Is the external DVD burners compatible with USB 1.1?
