The first time you connect a KODAK ZM2 Mini HD camcorder to your computer, you’ll be asked to install ArcSoft MediaImpression SE for Kodak software (PC only) that’s built-in and ready to use to import your videos and then play, email, and upload with easy one button upload to YouTube and Facebook! You can also cut, trim, extract still pictures, and add effects to your movies (black-and-white, sepia, old movie, fisheye, exposure, sketch, sharpen, negative, water color, and mute audio). If you’re a Mac user, no worries, simply drag-and-drop your videos to your desktop as you would for any USB device and use APPLE iLIFE software.

The KODAK ZM2 Mini HD video camera is designed so you’ll never miss the moment. Power on and you are immediately ready to record with its ultra simple one-button operation – just press the OK button in the center of the navigation controller to start/stop recording video. There’s a built-in mic that’ ll automatically record sound too. Information icons on the recording screen keep you current on Mini’s recording status – recording indicator (a red circle appears when recording), elapsed recording time, battery level, zoom level, the selected video resolution or still photo mode, and confirmation whether a memory card is inserted. The three buttons have a soft rubberized feel for excellent control whatever the conditions and the wrist strap will help you keep the Kodak Mini secure.

The lens of Kodak ZM2 Mini DV is fixed focus so everything from 50 cm (1.6 ft) to infinity will be in focus and there is no focus lag time when you press record or take a still picture. The up/down navigation arrows control 3X digital zoom. Use the right navigation arrow to change capture modes – 720p HD, VGA, QVGA/30, QVGA/60 or still pictures. 720p HD provides the highest resolution, QVGA (320x240) creates smaller file sizes, and QVGA/60 (60 frames per second) is the best choice for shooting fast action scenes. The still pictures are 640x480 which is good for email and wallet-size prints. Press the left button to access Menu options:

• Review: playback videos with sound, view pictures, and delete videos/pictures
• Date/Time: set date/time and select viewing format
• Brightness: set screen brightness level to low, medium or high
• Sound: turn camera sounds on or off
• Format Card: Note: formatting a memory card will delete all files saved to the card.
• Information: shows firmware version and ARCSOFT software version

There’s a microSD/SDHC card slot which provides memory expansion up to a 16GB microSDHC card that’s good for up to 4 hours of video at VGA 30fps (1GB = approx. 15mins) with continuous video capture up to 1 hour per file. If you run out of memory on the go you can simply change to a new card.

The KODAK ZM2 Mini digital camcorder comes with a powerful integrated Lithium rechargeable battery (~85 minutes recording time per charge) so you have longer record time than camcorders using AA batteries and the battery recharges conveniently in-camera using the built-in USB arm so you won’t need a separate battery charger.
